नमो भारत ट्रेन के एक साल पूरे, 40 लाख से ज्यादा यात्री कर चुके हैं सफर

Ghaziabad, October 21 (IANS). On the occasion of the first anniversary of Namo Bharat train operation, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Energy Manohar Lal traveled in the train and visited major stations of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. Manohar Lal boarded the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad station.

During this, he interacted with women train operators and appreciated their contribution in operating India’s first RRTS corridor. Along with this, he also interacted with daily commuters and took their direct feedback about NaMo Bharat service. He expressed satisfaction at the positive response received from passengers, who appreciated the facilities available in NaMo Bharat trains, its speed and comfort.

Many passengers said that this new mode of transport has greatly improved their daily commute. It is a hassle-free and reliable alternative to traditional transportation. On the occasion of one year of NaMo Bharat operations, NCRTC had organized a special tour of school students in the morning. In which school children enjoyed a fast and joyous ride with chocolates. The passengers were welcomed in a festive atmosphere with drum beats, chocolates and souvenirs. The stations were decorated for NaMo Bharat Day, creating a festive atmosphere.

Manohar Lal started his tour from Anand Vihar RRTS station, where he was welcomed by NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goyal. He gave a detailed briefing to the Minister about the unique design of the station and its importance to the overall RRTS network.

Anand Vihar RRTS station has been designed in such a way that it is easily accessible. With its proximity to two metro lines, a railway station and two inter-state bus terminals (ISBTs) at Delhi and Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh, Anand Vihar is set to become the busiest transit hub in the region. Recently, the trial run of Namo Bharat trains has been started, which will connect New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar RRTS station of Delhi with the already operational Sahibabad station.

After this, the Minister reached Sahibabad RRTS station, where he inspected various facilities developed for the passengers. They were also exposed to live models as well as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality and were provided information on the latest infrastructure, advanced technologies and services being used in the development of RRTS.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the 17 km primary section between Sahibabad to Duhai Depot on 20 October 2023. Another 17 km section between Duhai to Modinagar North was inaugurated on 6 March 2024. After this, Meerut South RRTS station was also made operational on 18th August.

Currently, the NaMo Bharat service operates on a 42-km stretch, covering nine stations including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Modinagar North and Meerut South. The corridor will soon expand to 54 km, connecting the Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar stretch, including major stations like Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar.
