The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a charge sheet against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others in which the charge sheet has been filed is a living example of Congress corruption.
The ruling party at the center also alleged that the Nehru-Gandhi family is “the most corrupt” in the world.
BJP MP and Chief Spokesperson Anil Baluni said that it has become clear from the ED’s charge sheet that how the Gandhi family made money in this matter.
Baluni wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “The National Herald Scam is a living example of the corruption of the Congress.”
He said, “Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi formed a company that was not aimed at doing business, but they wanted to buy AJL (Associated Journal Limited) through it and wanted to name their assets worth thousands of crores of rupees.”
Baluni said, “It has become clear from the charge sheet of the Enforcement Directorate of how the Gandhi family made money in the National Herald case.” In this charge sheet, Sonia Gandhi is accused number one and Rahul Gandhi accused number two. The matter started during the Congress government. “He said,” Investigation agencies are doing their work. No matter how big a criminal is, the Constitution of India will definitely make him stand in the court.
Special Judge Vishal Gogane made a charge sheet filed on April 9, investigated important points of cognizance and set the next date of hearing on 25 April after which the BJP’s response came.
The ED had filed a charge sheet against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others on April 9 on charges of money treatment. In the charge sheet, Congress leaders Sam Pitroda and Suman Dubey have also been accused in the case.
After the Congress filed the charge sheet against its top leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the ‘National Herald’ case, on Tuesday, it was alleged that it is nothing but an attempt to intimidate the revenge politics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
BJP Rajya Sabha member and national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the Congress has no right to do politics on the issue as the matter was “registered” during its rule.
He said, “The Congress should keep in mind that the matter started in 2012 and the Delhi High Court started the case in 2013 while hearing a PIL”
He termed the Congress’ allegations against the Center (Narendra) Modi government as “very hollow, baseless and malicious with the intention of influencing the investigation into the case”.
Another BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala also accused Congress leaders of calling themselves suffering after indulging in the “loot” of public money.
He criticized the opposition party for calling the ED’s action a politics of revenge and said that the action in the case started on the order of the court. He said, “Does he mean that the court has taken retaliatory action against him?”
Poonwala said, “Whoever indulges in corruption and robbery will now have to bear the brunt of it. Now ED does not mean loot and familyism. ”
He said, “They grab public money and property and when action is taken, they call themselves victims… they also took public property in the National Herald case.”
