Seoul, October 23 (IANS). The dictator of North Korea has once again decided to increase his war equipment. Dictator Kim Jong-un has talked about increasing the country’s nuclear capability and war resistance capability. This information was given by North Korea’s government media on Wednesday.
State media said on Wednesday that he reiterated his pledge, citing “increasing nuclear threats” from the US.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) issued a message in English saying Kim Jong-un made the comments during an inspection of “strategic missile sites.” According to news agency Yonhap, the place or date of the inspection is not mentioned in this report.
According to the message, “As has been emphasized on numerous occasions recently, U.S. strategic nuclear weapons pose a continuing threat to the security of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (the official name of North Korea). These serious threats In view of this, there is an urgent need for the DPRK to further strengthen its war deterrence capability and adopt a deeper and tougher response approach towards nuclear powers.”
KCNA further said, during the inspection, Kim took stock of the launch facilities of the missile bases and also tested the operational readiness of the strategic missile units.
The report said Kim also stressed the importance of further modernizing and strengthening missile bases to ensure all facilities are fully prepared for a strong response.
North Korea has expressed its aggressive attitude by making such a statement just two weeks before the upcoming US elections. Recently, there have been many such attempts from his side which create a situation of tension. Like it revealed its uranium enrichment facility, then launched ballistic missiles and has been sending balloons carrying garbage across the border (to South Korea) for the last few months.
