This tank was recently tested at Mahajan Firing Range in Bikaner, Rajasthan and it has been successful in penetrating the given tank. This tank has been specially designed for hilly and desert areas. After 2 years of testing, this tank will be included in the Indian Army in 2027. With this tank, the search for armored and combat weapons of the Indian Army has also been completed. 1. The biggest specialty of the tank is that it can be used effectively at an altitude of 8 to 10 thousand feet in Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh and also in the Rann of Kutch bordering Pakistan in Gujarat.
2. The tank weighs about 25 tons. In its initial test, the firing range was tested. This tank has a 105 mm long gun, which can fire easily after a short process.
3. This tank is being seen as an alternative to the T-72 and T-90 tanks, as these tanks are difficult to use in mountainous and desert areas.
4. The tank has been jointly developed by DRDO and Larsen & Toubro. There is a project to make about 354 such tanks.
5. DRDO Chief Sameer V Kamat first presented this tank to the world on 6 July in Gujarat.
Will join the army after field trials
According to a report by HT, information given by DRDO said that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also watched the testing live online and praised the tank after seeing its strength. It is said to be one of the most dangerous weapons in the Indian Army’s arsenal. It may take 12 to 18 months for the army to complete its testing in the field. After conducting several tests in the next 6 months, it will be handed over to the army for trial. If the tank is successful in the test, it will be officially inducted into the Indian Army. At the same time, this tank can be deployed in the high altitude areas of Ladakh. A fund of Rs 17500 crore has been released by the Ministry of Defense to build more than 300 heavy tanks.
