Union Tribal Affairs Minister Juel Oram, who is in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, has announced to retire from politics. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Juel Oram of Odisha clearly stated that he will no longer contest any direct election. He made this announcement during a public event in Sambalpur, causing a stir in the state’s politics. However, he said one more thing with it.
Whatever responsibility the party gives me, I will play it
Actually, he said that now I will not contest elections. I have contested the Lok Sabha and the assembly elections twice. Now I wish to work for the party and bring the youth forward. He also said that whatever responsibility the party gives me, I will fulfill it. Oram’s statement is probably indicating that he will not contest in future.
I will keep working for the organization
In a conversation with the media, Juel Oram reiterated his decision and said that now he wants to see the youth moving forward. However, on the question of becoming a Rajya Sabha member or Governor, he said that even if it did not happen, he will continue to work for the organization.
Please tell that Juel Oraon is one of the major tribal faces of BJP in Odisha. He has represented Sundargarh in Parliament several times since 1998. He became the Minister of Union Tribal Affairs for the first time in 1999. When the NDA returned to power for the third time in 2024, he again got a ministerial position. Now his move is being considered a sign of giving a place to the new generation in the party.
