Jammu-Kashmir : National Conference leader Abdullah has launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, saying that Pakistan should not interfere in India’s elections but should “save its democracy.”
what is the matter
The matter is that Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had said in a statement that Pakistan and the National Conference-Congress alliance are unanimous on the restoration of Article 370. The BJP has reacted sharply to this statement and accused the National Conference and Congress of “colluding with anti-national forces”. Home Minister Amit Shah has also attacked the two opposition parties contesting the elections in alliance in Jammu and Kashmir and said that the statement of Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif proves that the intentions and agenda of the neighboring country and the Congress are the same.
In a conversation amid the campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024, the first to be held after the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A five years ago, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said that Pakistan should not interfere in India’s elections but should save its democracy. “What has Pakistan got to do with us? We are not even a part of Pakistan, let them look after their own country. I don’t think they should interfere in our elections or comment on our elections. They should save their democracy, we are participating in our democracy,” he said.
Omar’s father and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah also reacted to the Pakistan Defence Minister’s statement on the National Conference-Congress alliance and his stand on Article 370, saying he does not know what Pakistan says. He said, “I am not a Pakistani; I am an Indian citizen.”
