In the Lok Sabha, Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media ‘post’ shows “political nature of resignation” on the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar as Vice President.
Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday evening citing health reasons. He sent his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu asking that he was leaving the post with immediate effect.
Gogoi did not name Dhankhar in his ‘post’ on social media platform ‘X’.
Gogoi said in his ‘post’, “The dignity of a constitutional post should be maintained in both in the role of the presiding officer and while resigning. Prime Minister Modi’s tweet has revealed the political nature of resignation. ‘
Wishing good health of Dhankhar in his ‘post’, Prime Minister Modi said that he had many opportunities to serve the country while holding various positions.
The decision of Dhankar to resign from the post of Vice President has heated up the market of speculation whether “preference to health care” is the main reason or the matter is something else.
The Congress claims that the reason behind the resignation of Dhankar is more serious than the health problems given by him.
The Congress said that the praise of a person who is in high position was not seen by the ruling coalition, which is probably happy that the government is happy with his departure.
However, it was the opposition who signed a notice of impeachment on him for the alleged bias of Dhankhar last year.
