Nagpur, December 17 (IANS). Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Legislative Council member Manisha Kayande on Tuesday said that the ‘One Nation, One Election’ bill is important for the country.
Speaking to IANS, he said that this is a very important law for the interest of the country. The purpose of this law is to eliminate repeated elections. Which takes time and money. If any decision is taken in the interest of the country then we should support it.
Regarding NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal’s displeasure, he said that this is a decision related to his party, especially NCP and Ajit Pawar. I do not find it appropriate to comment on this matter.
Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande further said that India Block is going to collapse. It will not survive because each of its members has their own personal agenda. They have no collective agenda to take the country forward.
One Nation One Election Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha today. There is a deadlock between the government and the opposition regarding this bill in the Lok Sabha. For the first time, electronic division took place in the House regarding One Nation, One Nation. 220 MPs voted in favor of this bill while 149 MPs opposed it. However, later the process of vote division was done again. In the second division, 269 votes were cast in favor and 198 against.
Amidst the uproar in Parliament over One Nation, One Election Bill, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, ‘When the One Nation, One Election Bill came in the Cabinet, PM Modi said that it should be sent to the Joint Committee of Parliament.’ Amidst the uproar, IUML leader E T Mohammad Bashir and Shiv Sena member Anil Desai expressed strong objection to the bill and demanded that it be withdrawn as soon as possible.
