Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the upcoming G-7 summit to be held in Canada would provide a platform for the exchange of views on important global issues and global South priorities. He left for three countries.
In his departure statement before his visit to three countries, Modi said that he is eager to interact with leaders of partner countries during the summit in Canaanaskis, participating on the invitation of Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney.
He said that this journey of three countries is also an opportunity to thank the partner countries for continuously supporting India in the fight against cross -border terrorism and to motivate global understanding to deal with terrorism in all forms and expressions.
The Prime Minister said that he would travel to Cyprus on 15–16 June at the invitation of President Nicos Christodolidase.
He said, “Cyprus is a close friend and important partner of the Mediterranean Sea region and the European Union. This journey provides an opportunity to further strengthen historical relations and increase our relations in the fields of business, investment, security, technology and promote exchange among people.”
Modi said that after the G-7 summit, he will visit Croatia and hold a meeting with President Joran Milnovich and Prime Minister Andrez Plankovic.
He said that India and Croatia have centuries -old close cultural relations. Modi said that an Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Croatia will open new avenues of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interests.
