Hazaribagh, 4 April (IANS). Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has accused the opposition parties of the state of spreading poison in the name of religion, sect and caste.
Addressing the 46th Foundation Day celebrations of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Hazaribagh on Friday, Soren called upon the people of the state to be vigilant with divisive forces and give them a befitting reply with solidarity.
He said that the unity of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Adivasi, Dalits and all classes of people has been the power of Jharkhand and the country. We have to take a pledge that on the occasion of the festival, the plans of those who spread the glory will not be successful under any circumstances.
Soren said that when the Bharatiya Janata Party had a double engine government in the state, he had spread the communal frenzy so much that it became difficult for people to leave the houses. It was the misfortune of Jharkhand that the parties which opposed a separate state, after the formation of the state, remained in power for the longest time. Finally, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha fought with full force and big resolutions and overthrew them from power in 2019.
The Chief Minister alleged that after coming to power in 2019, he was harassed for five consecutive years at the behest of the central government and sent to jail under false allegations.
He claimed that if he had been outside the jail during the Lok Sabha elections, not a single seat in the state would go to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He also said that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is a party watered by the blood and sweat of the agitators. Our resolve is that we will bring a smile of happiness on every person’s face in the state. Our government started sending money directly to their bank account to empower women. There is not a single elderly person in the state who is deprived of pension. All the promises we have made to the public, we will take everyone on the ground one by one.
The public meeting was addressed by several leaders including ministers Yogendra Prasad and Sudivya Kumar. During this time many leaders and activists of the other party took membership of JMM.
