Opposition MPs, including Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, protested in the Parliament complex on Monday over the Adani case.
Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) and Samajwadi Party members were not part of the protest. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) MP Supriya Sule was also not present at the protest.
Speaking about TMC not joining the opposition party’s protest on Adani issue, MP Kirti Azad said that it is the job of Congress to take everyone along.
Kirti Azad said, “Being a senior party, Congress will have to take everyone along and if it does not take everyone along, then it is natural that there will be problems. When Congress is not able to give to the alliance what the opposition needs, then In such a situation, Mamata Banerjee is the only capable person.”

Union Minister Giriraj Singh attacked the Congress, alleging that it is in collusion with American billionaire George Soros. He said, “Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi commit treason. Rahul Gandhi, along with George Soros, speaks the language of George Soros. George Soros provides money to those who are involved in anti-party activities. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi should be punished.” “Answer should be given. Rahul Gandhi is the leader of ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang.”
Earlier, on December 6, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi had taken a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to participate in the winter session of Parliament and not be afraid of the investigation on Adani. Rahul wrote on social media platform Facebook, “Modi ji, come to Parliament, don’t be afraid of investigation on Adani.”
Congress and its India block allies have been adamant on the demand to discuss the US indictment on Adani since the beginning of the winter session.
Adani Group has denied the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against the directors of Adani Green. “The charges brought by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against the directors of Adani Green are baseless and are refuted,” the statement said.
Adani Group said it has always shown commitment to maintaining “the highest standards of governance, transparency and regulatory compliance in all areas of its operations”.
The first session of the Winter Parliament began on November 25, with both Houses adjourned well in advance due to disruptions. The winter session will continue till December 20.
