Order for magisterial probe in Sultanpur encounter case

Sultanpur, Sep 7 (IANS) The district administration has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the death of a robbery accused in a police encounter in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh on September 5.

Confirming the order of magisterial inquiry, Sultanpur ADM Administration Gaurav Shukla said that Sub-Divisional Magistrate Lambhua has been nominated for magisterial inquiry in the case of death of criminals Mangesh and Kumbhe in an encounter with STF under Kotwali Dehat police station area on September 5. He has been instructed to submit his report within 15 days.

Let us tell you that after the encounter of accused Mangesh Yadav, political upheaval is in full swing in the state. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had called this encounter wrong and accused the encounter of criminal based on his caste.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had written on the social media platform X, “It seems that the ruling party had deep connections with those involved in the Sultanpur robbery, that is why before the fake encounter, the ‘main accused’ was contacted and made to surrender and other party members were shot only on their feet and killed on the basis of their ‘caste’.”

He further said that when the main accused has surrendered, then all the looted goods should be returned and the government should pay separate compensation because the mental trauma caused by such incidents takes a lot of time to recover from, which leads to loss of business, which should be compensated by the government.

Akhilesh Yadav had said, “Fake encounters turn protectors into predators. The solution is not fake encounters but real law and order. BJP rule is the Amritkaal of criminals. Till the public pressure and anger does not reach its peak, the work of sharing in the loot continues and when it seems that the public will surround them, then fake encounters are shown as a superficial balm. The public understands how some people are saved and how others are implicated.”
