Kannauj, Aug 31 (IANS) Union Minister Anupriya Patel has said that our government has done a lot of work in the health sector and you know that if we look at the last ten years in terms of budget, before 2014 the budget of the health sector was Rs 35,000 crore. But today in 2024, the latest budget which has just been presented is Rs 91,000 crore.
He said, it is clear that our government is continuously increasing expenditure on health and making healthcare more affordable and of high quality for the general public. Since our government came to power, the number of AIIMS has increased across the country. Before 2014, the number of AIIMS in the country was 6. Today, under the Modi government, this number has increased to 22.
Before 2014, the number of medical colleges in the country was 350. This number has increased to more than 700 in the Modi government. The number of UG and PG seats in medical has increased. The government is continuously working to improve the health infrastructure. You know that our government has brought the world’s largest health insurance of Rs 5 lakh. 55 crore people are covered under it. People above 70 years of age are now also being included in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The Prime Minister had already announced this. The ministry is considering that proposal. We are providing cheap medicines to people through Jan Aushadhi Kendra.
The Union Minister posted on Twitter, Today I met party officials and workers in Kannauj district and had a meaningful dialogue on important organisational issues. I appreciate the enthusiasm and dedication of all the workers. I have full faith that all the workers will take the district organisation to new heights with their collective efforts. Anupriya Patel said, worker conferences are being organised in different areas to strengthen the party.
