Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the culture and principles of his party have never changed in the journey from Jana Sangh to BJP, hence it could achieve so much in the last 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.
Shah said at the training camp of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, that there was no ‘essence of India’ in the policies of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, that is why Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee decided to leave Nehru’s government and form a Jana Sangh.
The Union Home Minister on Saturday inaugurated the three -day training camp organized by the BJP’s Madhya Pradesh unit at Pachmarhi, a mountainous tourism town in Narmadapuram district for its public representatives and officials.
The former BJP president said about the party’s journey, “From Jana Sangh to BJP, neither our ideology changed, nor our resolve”.
Shah said, “When you introspect, you will realize that we often do more work for ourselves instead of party. Now the time has come to start working for the party. ”
Regarding the introduction of the Jana Sangh, after independence, Nehru completely dominated the Congress and many people who joined the freedom movement under the Congress’ umbrella left the Congress after the policies of the Nehru government were clear.
The BJP leader said, “Many people felt that the country was going in the wrong direction. The policies created by the Nehru government did not have the essence of India, its soil, its ancient culture, its social values, lifestyle and religion. ”
