Ramallah, Sep 7 (IANS) A Palestinian girl was killed in Israeli gunfire in the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
The 13-year-old died of a gunshot wound to the chest, medical sources told news agency Xinhua on Friday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its teams treated a girl with serious chest injuries in Qaryut, reports Xinhua news agency. The injured girl was rushed to Rafidiya Government Hospital in Nablus, where doctors declared her dead.
Bana Baker was injured in Israeli army gunfire while she was in a room at home with her sisters, her father told news agency Xinhua.
Local sources said that on Friday several people attacked the village, threw stones and set fire.
There has been no comment from Israel on the incident so far. Tensions between Palestinians and Israelis have been rising in the West Bank since the conflict between Hamas and Israel on October 7, 2023.
