पेरिस पैरालंपिक : होकाटो होतोजे ने जीता मेडल, पीएम मोदी ने दी बधाई

New Delhi, Sep 7 (IANS) Indian athletes continue to perform well at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Hokato Hotoze Sema on winning a bronze medal and praised his determination towards the sport.

Hokato won the bronze medal for India in the final of the men’s shot put F57 event on Saturday with a throw of 14.65 metres, his personal best.

The Prime Minister expressed pride in the Paralympian’s achievement on his social media platform ‘X’ account, calling it a ‘proud moment’ for the country.

PM Modi wrote in the post, “This is a proud moment for our country. Hokato has won the bronze medal in Men’s Shot Put F57! His incredible strength and determination are extraordinary. Congratulations to him. Best wishes for his future endeavours.”

Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated the Paralympian, praising his achievement.

“Hokato Sema has achieved a great feat by winning the bronze medal in the men’s shot put F57 event at the Paralympics 2024. Your unwavering effort and stellar performance have made the nation proud,” the Home Minister wrote on his ‘X’ account.

In this event, Yashin Khosravi of Iran won the gold medal with a throw of 15.96 metres, while Thiago Paulino dos Santos of Brazil won the silver medal with a throw of 15.06 metres.

India’s total medal tally now stands at 27, which includes 6 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 12 bronze medals.

The achievement marks India’s best-ever performance at the Paralympics, surpassing the five gold medals won at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
