“Passengers please note” Work on bullet train project from Amritsar to Katra has started, 465 km journey will be completed in just this much time

If this project is completed, the 465 km journey from Amritsar to Delhi will be completed in one hour and 40 minutes. Apart from this, the 190 km journey from Amritsar to Katra can be completed in one hour. This train will run from Amritsar and reach Katra in one hour via Batala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Samba, Jammu.

The demand was raised in Parliament in 2017

After the start of work on this project, former BJP MP and former state president Shwet Malik has thanked the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. He said that his efforts have borne fruit, as Amritsar-Delhi and Amritsar-Katra bullet trains have been started on his demand. He said that for this he had demanded in Parliament in the year 2017 that the Amritsar-Jammu bullet train be run for Delhi-Amritsar and Katra. This project was passed in the year 2018 and its tender was issued in 2020, on which work is now going to start. During his parliamentary tenure, he had tried to start work on the Amritsar-Delhi and Amritsar-Katra High Speed ​​Rail Corridor projects, which has now been approved by the Narendra Modi government at the Center and work has started on both these projects.

The 465 km journey will be completed in 1 hour 40 minutes

He said that with the completion of the Amritsar-Delhi Bullet Rail project, the 465 km journey from Amritsar to Delhi will be completed in 1 hour 40 minutes, which will save a lot of time for people and they will be able to reach Amritsar at night after finishing their work in Delhi. The Amritsar-Delhi Bullet Train 15 will reach Amritsar via Delhi, Kaithal, Jind, Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar route. The maximum speed of this train will be 350 km per hour, while the operating speed will be 320 km per hour and the average speed will be 250 km per hour. The capacity of this train will be 750 passengers. He said that high speed trains will also be started for the holy city of Katra located in Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shwet Malik said that they have renovated Amritsar Railway Station at a cost of Rs 500 crore to make it world class, which includes 2 elevators, 2 new platforms, 5 lifts, granite platform, air-conditioned waiting room and retiring room at Amritsar Railway Station. Free Wi-Fi facility, air-conditioned rest house for passengers, construction of Bhandari Railway Over Bridge and complete construction of Rigo Railway Over Bridge, three new platforms at Chheharta Railway Station, 2 new washing lines etc. have been completed. He said that with the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, late Arun Jaitley and former Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, NITI Aayog provided Rs 300 crore for Amritsar-Ferozepur rail link, on which work is being done.
