Kolkata, October 27 (IANS). Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that peace will be restored in West Bengal only when infiltration in the state stops.
“Bring change in West Bengal in 2026 and the BJP will completely stop illegal infiltration into the state,” the Union Home Minister said at the inauguration of the new passenger terminal building and Maitri Gate at the land port at Petrapole in North 24 Parganas district.
Home Minister Shah launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress government and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the issue of corruption. Union Home Minister said, “What has Mamata Banerjee done for the development of West Bengal? Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined to ensure all-round development in West Bengal. During the last 10 years, West Bengal has received Rs 7.74 lakh crore from the Centre. Funds worth Rs. 100,000 have been received, which is much more than what the state received during the previous UPA government. But unfortunately, there is rampant corruption in the use of central funds in West Bengal.”
He also said that the funds provided under various centrally sponsored schemes like MNREGA and PMAY do not reach the actual beneficiaries. “Only people associated with Trinamool Congress get the benefit of these funds,” he said.
He said that land ports have an important role in preventing cross border smuggling. The minister said, “Land ports play an important role in promoting medical and educational tourism in the country. This initiative will take India on the path of development and progress.”
Let us tell you that Home Minister Shah is going to participate in an organizational meeting in an auditorium located in Salt Lake, Kolkata. In that organizational meeting, the party’s strategy for the upcoming by-elections can be outlined.
There is talk in political circles that the Union Home Minister may meet the parents of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered in August.
