Ranchi, September 13 (IANS). The issue of infiltration of Bangladeshis in Jharkhand’s Santhal Pargana division has heated up. People are angry after the recent incidents of attack on tribals and Hindus in some villages of Pakur district. People of the tribal society are now getting united for a movement against infiltration.
The tribal society has called a grand conference of village heads on this issue on September 16 in Hiranpur of Pakur district under the traditional tribal self-governance system. Former Jharkhand CM and BJP leader Champai Soren will specially participate in this event named ‘Manjhi Pargana Mahasammelan’.
Champai Soren has said that in this grand conference, we will sit together with the traditional village chiefs and other guides of the society and brainstorm on understanding the reason for the problem of infiltration and eviction of tribals from their own land and finding a solution.
He said that Pakur is the land of brave martyrs who rebelled against British imperialism. Now from this land, the entire Santhal-Pargana will be declared to fight against Bangladeshi infiltrators. Champai Soren wrote a long post on the social media platform X on Friday, calling Bangladeshi infiltration a serious problem.
He said, “Some political parties may try to hide the figures for vote bank, but the truth does not change by burying one’s head in the sand like an ostrich. A look at the voter list makes it clear that Bangladeshi infiltrators have largely succeeded in evicting us from our soil, our birthplace.”
Giving the example of Santhali Tola and Malpahadia village in Jikarhatti of Pakur, he further said that there is no member of the primitive tribe left here. So where did the sons of the soil go? Who is in possession of their lands and their houses now? Along with this, who is converting dozens of other villages and hamlets into Jamai Tola? If they are local, then where is their own house? Why do they live in Jamai Tolas? Under whose protection is this illegal activity going on?
The former CM said that our tribal society from Hiranpur block of Pakur district will start a social mass movement to save its existence and the dignity of mothers, sisters and daughters.
