Amidst the disaster in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, a podcast of Kangana Ranaut, an MP and actress from the region, has come into the discussion. Kangana, who started her political career by winning as an MP for the BJP from Mandi parliamentary constituency in Himachal Pradesh in 2024, has admitted that she is still trying to make her place in politics. Also, she is not able to enjoy her political term.
Kangana spoke about her political career during a podcast on YouTube channel (Air) Atman in Ravi. Kangana revealed that she entered politics after receiving a proposal. Asked if she is enjoying it, Kangana said, “I am getting an understanding of it. I will not say that I am having fun. It is a very different kind of work, like social service, but it has not been my background. I never thought of serving people.”
Kangana said that I have fought for women’s rights, but that is a different matter. People bring the problems of roads and drains to them. But I am an MP and these people are coming to me with problems of panchayat level. MLAs bring problems like broken roads, and when I tell them that this is a matter of state government, they say, you have money, you should invest your money.
Social work is not in background
During the podcast, when Kangana was asked if she would like to become Prime Minister someday, she replied that she did not think she is sufficient for this role. This is because social work has never been in his background. He said that he has lived a very selfish life.
Election won against Vikramaditya in 2024
Kangana Ranaut contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi constituency on a BJP ticket in 2024 and won. Kangana won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 74,755 votes against her Congress rival and Vikramaditya Singh, son of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
