Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the party workers on the occasion of the Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Prime Minister wrote that this day gives the party a chance to repeat its unique commitment to work for the progress of the country.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister further wrote that the people of the country have also seen the good governance of the party, which has been reflected in the historical mandate received in the previous years.
The post reads, “Congratulations to all BJP workers on the party’s foundation day. We remember all those who dedicated ourselves to strengthen our party in the last several decades. This important day reiterates our unique commitment to work for the progress of India and realize the dream of developed India.”
Emphasizing the support of the BJP’s rule, he wrote, “The people of India are looking at our party’s agenda, which is also reflected in the historic mandate we get in the past years, whether it is Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections in various states or various local body elections across the country. Our governments will continue to serve society and ensure all -round development.”
Describing the party workers as the backbone, the Prime Minister wrote in his post that he is proud that the workers are working day and night in every part of the country and serving the poor, Dalits and marginalized people.
The post further states, “The backbone of our party, my best wishes to all our hardworking workers, because they are actively working on the ground and carrying forward our good governance agenda. I am proud that our workers are working round the clock in every part of the country and serving the poor, Dalits and the margins. Their energy and enthusiasm are really inspiring.”
The BJP was originally founded as the Bharatiya Jana Sangh under the leadership of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
Under the leadership of leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani, the party gained considerable pace and eventually came to power in the 1990s. Since then it has remained a major power in Indian politics.
