Raipur, September 29 (IANS). Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai recently gave a statement regarding the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ek Ped Maa ke Naam campaign. He said that PM Modi has called upon everyone to plant at least one tree in the name of their mother.
This appeal is getting widespread support across the country, and in Chhattisgarh too, a target has been set to plant four crore trees under this campaign.
The Chief Minister said that this is a revolutionary step for the environment, due to which people are planting trees like Peepal and Banyan at their respective places.
Regarding the departmental review meeting, Sai said that as the Chief Minister, he is reviewing all the departments. So far, meetings of more than half a dozen departments have taken place. First of all the Agriculture, Health and PHE departments were reviewed. A review meeting of Revenue and Sports Department was held yesterday. In the coming time, other departments will also be reviewed, so that necessary instructions can be given if needed.
Commenting on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Sai said that many positive changes have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir during the tenure of Prime Minister Modi. Panchayat elections have been successfully conducted there, and assembly elections are also being held. He said that earlier there used to be incidents of stone pelting, which have now ended. All this has become possible after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. The people there are also eager to join the mainstream of development.
