It was the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who chose the word “Operation Sindoor” for the Indian armed forces attacks at nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
He said 26 civilians were shot dead by terrorists, including all men and most of the tourists, and many victims’ wives became the face of this tragedy, so the name “Operation Sindoor” was considered suitable for retaliation.
The Indian armed forces carried out missile attacks on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, including the stronghold of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s whereabouts in Muridke.
Two weeks after the Pahalgam attack, military attacks were carried out under Operation Sindoor, in which 26 civilians were killed.
