Wayanad, November 7 (IANS). Campaigning is in full swing for the by-election to be held on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. Meanwhile, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday addressed an election rally in support of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Nilambur, Wayanad. During this, he accused the central government of discriminating against non-BJP ruled states.
Mallikarjun Kharge said that PM Modi has always discriminated against non-BJP ruled states. He did not even bother to provide assistance after the devastation in Wayanad, even though he had promised it when he visited the area after the devastating landslides.
Addressing the rally, Kharge said, “That’s why I always used to say that Modi is a fake man and he is also a liar.” Rahul Gandhi had urged the central government in both Houses of Parliament to take appropriate relief and rehabilitation measures, but Despite his promise, the Prime Minister did nothing here. His promise proved to be hollow.”
The Congress president said, “The Kerala government introduced a comprehensive compensation package of Rs 2,000 crore for disaster relief, but only an amount of Rs 291 crore was approved. Meanwhile, BJP-ruled states also received a large share of central assistance “
Mallikarjun Kharge said during the rally, “Congress has never discriminated against any state. We are committed to the values of inclusivity, fairness and justice. The people of Kerala have always stood by the constitutional ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity.” People here believe in the idea of secular India, but the actions of the Modi government are breaking the fabric of our unity. Instead of promoting harmony, they have created division, anger, and fear. He wants to divide us on the basis of caste and religion, but I have faith in the people of Wayanad that he cannot divide them.”
He cautioned people against the “divisive designs” of the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He further said, “In the last few years, BJP-RSS have started a new culture of communal and divisive politics in Kerala. They are dividing people of all religions, communities and castes. BJP is trying its best to take advantage of the insecurities of the people. Is trying.”
Kharge appealed to vote in support of Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He said that after knowing both Rahul and Priyanka, I can say with complete honesty that they are such leaders who will always stand with you, no matter what the circumstances.
