New Delhi, 23 March (IANS). Krishna Bharti, daughter of the Gandhian and famous freedom fighter late Pasla Krishna Murthy, died on Sunday. She was 92 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mourned the death of Krishna Bharti.
The Prime Minister’s Office wrote on the social media platform X, “Passla Krishna Bharti ji was very sad. She was devoted to Gandhian values and surrendered her life to nation building through Bapu’s ideals. She carried forward her parents’ legacy brilliantly, which was active during our freedom struggle. Sympathy.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched the feet of Krishna Bharti at the unveiling program of the statue of freedom fighter Alluri Sitaram Raju in 2022 in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh.
During that time, Prime Minister Modi also met other family members of Pasla Krishna Murthy.
Krishna Bharti breathed his last at her residence in Snehpuri Colony, Hyderabad after a brief illness.
She was the second daughter of freedom fighter Pasla Krishna Murthy and Anja Lakshmi, resident of Western Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
Krishna Bharati believed in the Gandhian values and maintained the same values throughout his life. He also tried to uplift the Dalits. He donated to educational institutions and cowsheds.
Krishna Bharti was unmarried. He has four brothers and three sisters.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has mourned the death of Krishna Bharti. He recalled his contribution to the educational upliftment of the weaker sections of the society.
