Jagreb, 19 June (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a joint statement with Croatia’s PM Andrez Plankovic at the last stop of his three -nation tour. PM Modi thanked Croatia’s PM Andrez Plankovic for the reception in Jagreb.
Prime Minister Modi said in his statement, “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Government of Croatia for the enthusiasm, intimacy and affection of Jagreb on this historical and enchanting earth. This is the first visit of any Indian Prime Minister to Croatia and I have got good luck.”
PM Modi said in a shared statement, “India and Croatia are associated with shared values like democracy, rule of law, pluralism and equality. It is a pleasant coincidence that the people of India and the people of Croatia have given me the opportunity to serve Prime Minister Andreji for the third consecutive time last year. With this public confidence we have decided to give three folds to our bilateral relations in our third tenure. A ‘Defense Cooperation Plan’ will be made, in which there are many areas of training and military exchange as well as the defense industry.
He further said, “We have decided to increase cooperation in many fields to increase bilateral trade and prepare reliable supply chains. We will promote cooperation in many important subjects in many such important topics.
Cooperation in shipbuilding and cyber security will be increased. There are also extensive opportunities for Croatia companies in the port modernization, the development of coastal-zones and multi-model connectivity under the Sagarmala project of India. We have emphasized joint research and cooperation between our academic institution and centers. India will share its space experience with Croatia. “
Referring to cultural relations, the Prime Minister said, “Our centuries -old cultural relations, mutual affection and harmony are the core of mutual affection and harmony. ‘Ivan Philip Vejidin’ published Sanskrit grammar in Europe for the first time in the 18th century. Indology department has been active in Jagrab University for 50 years. The Cultural Exchange Program has been prepared for the coming five years. The mobility agreement will be completed soon. People will celebrate it with pomp. “
PM Modi also mentioned terrorism in his statement. He said, “We agree that terrorism is an enemy of humanity. We are opposed to the powers who believe in democracy. We are heartily grateful to the Prime Minister and the Government of Croatia for condolences on the terrorist attack in India on 22 April. We were very valuable for us in such difficult times. We both agree that India and Europe have great importance in today’s global environment. Croatia’s support and cooperation is very important in strengthening. “
He said, “Both of us support whether Europe or Asia, the solution of problems does not come out of the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy are the only way. The regional integrity and sovereignty of any country is necessary.”
The Prime Minister further said, “It is a special moment for me to be here today in ‘Banski Dwori’. Where ‘Saksinski’ gave my historic speech in Croatian language, I am feeling a pride and relaxing in Hindi. Let me give us an opportunity to welcome you as soon as possible in India. “
