The Congress on Wednesday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is clearly refusing to reject US President Donald Trump’s claims of India-Pakistan ceasefire, as he is in a very weak situation and has to hide a lot.
The opposition party also targeted Prime Minister Modi after repeating Trump’s claim about playing a role in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan and said that the US leaders were wrapped like a snake around the Prime Minister and are telling the bitter truth in his ears.
While returning to Washington from Scotland on Tuesday, talking to reporters in Air Force One aircraft, Trump reiterated that he had stopped the struggle between India and Pakistan.
Tagging the video of Trump’s latest comment, Congress General Secretary (Communications in -charge) Jairam Ramesh said, “This is once again President Trump – after the Prime Minister’s intervention in the Lok Sabha yesterday, where he strayed the main issue.”
Ramesh said on X, “Why are the Prime Minister refusing to clearly and clearly deny what the Prime Minister has clearly and clearly said by his good friend Donald Trump in America, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Britain? The answer is clear. Shri Narendra Modi is in a very weak position and has to hide a lot.”
Pawan Kheda, the head of the Congress’s Media and Publicity Department, said, “Trump is wrapped like a snake around Modi. And yesterday Rahul Gandhi gave him a great opportunity to get out of this bare. Just say that Trump was lying about the ceasefire.”
Kheda said on X, “It’s a simple thing, no? But no. Modi is allergic to Rahul ji’s advice. And take, today the snake is back, more tightly beaten the horoscope than before, the bitter truth in Modi’s ear is having a bitter truth.”
When asked about the news of India’s preparation to face the high American tariff up to 20-25 percent, Trump on Tuesday replied, “Yes, I think so.”
Referring to Prime Minister Modi, Trump said, “India has been my friend, he is my friend and he is also my friend.”
Trump said, “And you know, he ended the war with Pakistan at my request, and it was very good. And Pakistan did the same. We made many best agreements, including recent compromises with Cambodia, as you know.”
On Tuesday, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, challenged him by a scathing attack on Prime Minister Modi to clearly deny the claims of the India-Pakistan ceasefire of US President Trump.
He had said, “If Modi ji has the courage as Indira Gandhi, then he should clearly say in Parliament that Donald Trump is lying.”
Speaking after Gandhi, Modi said that the leader of any country did not ask India to stop the operation vermilion, but he regretted that the country got support from the whole world, but the Congress and its allies could not stand behind the valor of the country’s soldiers.
Talking to reporters after the debate ended, Gandhi said, “Narendra Modi did not clearly say that Trump is lying. Trump has said 29 times that he had a ceasefire, but Narendra Modi did not respond to it.”
On May 10, when Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to complete and immediate ceasefire after a long -night conversation in Washington’s mediation, since he has reiterated his claim on several occasions that they have helped reduce tension between India and Pakistan.
However, India has been continuously saying that agreed to end enmity with Pakistan was made after direct talks between the Directorate General of Military Operations of the two armies (DGMOs).
In a phone call of about 35 minutes with Trump last month, Modi clearly stated that India would never accept arbitration and a discussion between Indian and Pakistani forces was launched at the request of Islamabad.
India started Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist structures in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir under the retaliation of Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. After drone and missile attacks from across the border for four days, India and Pakistan reached an agreement to end the struggle on May 10.
