India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had an emotional meeting at Patna Airport, when he met 14 -year -old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family.
Youth sensation has attracted the attention of the country with its extraordinary performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The Prime Minister shared some pictures on the social media platform X and appreciated the talent of the teenager.
PM Modi tweeted, “Young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family met at Patna Airport. His cricket skills are being praised all over the country! My best wishes for his future efforts.”
Suryavanshi, who played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) this season, has been one of the most successful stars of the tournament. In only seven matches, this young player scored 252 runs, but his banging century against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Jaipur created panic in the cricket world.
Batting more maturity than his age, Suryavanshi scored 101 off 38 balls and became the youngest century in men’s T20 cricket. His century scored only 35 balls has now become the second fastest century in IPL history, which is a shocking achievement for only 14 -year -old player.
On the biggest night of Suryavanshi’s career, he also broke many other records:
• It is also the seventh fastest century of T20 cricket, the fastest century was scored by Sahil Chauhan of Estonia in just 27 balls against Cyprus in 2024.
• Suryavanshi also completed his half -century in just 17 balls, the fifth fastest half -century in league history, making him the youngest player to score a half -century in the IPL.
• Suryavanshi’s 94 runs came from the boundary, including seven fours and 11 sixes. 93% of the boundary percentage is the highest in the history of IPL in any century.
• In addition, Vaibhav has equaled the highest number of 11 sixes in an innings of IPL with former Indian batsman Murali Vijay, with the most sixes by Gayle, who scored 175* runs against Pune Warriors India, including 17 sixes.
• Also, the 166 -run partnership between Vaibhav and Yashasvi Jaiswal is the biggest partnership for any wicket for Rajasthan Royals, which is ahead of the 155 -run partnership made by Jose Butler and Devdutt Padikal against DC in Wankhede in 2022.
• According to Wisden Wisden.com Com, Suryavanshi took only three innings to score his first IPL century and Punjab Kings (PBKS) batsmen Priyansh Arya and Paul Walthati left behind, who played four innings.
This meeting with the Prime Minister adds another memorable chapter in Suryavanshi’s great progress in Indian cricket.
