Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Four days before the assembly elections in Delhi, the Modi government has given a big gift to the middle class. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the budget on Saturday, announced a big relief to the taxpayers of the country. He said that now income up to Rs 12 lakh will be completely free from tax. This announcement made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is considered very important as it will give a big relief to the middle class.
It is also expected to have a major impact on the Delhi assembly elections. The notable thing is that the Modi government has shown more kindness than the demand of former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on the middle class. In such a situation, it is also being said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a big play before voting in the Delhi assembly elections.
More kind than Kejriwal’s demand
In fact, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal recently issued his manifesto for the middle class and placed seven demands before the Modi government. The most important demand of these was to give middle class exemption in income tax slab. Kejriwal had demanded that the income tax exemption limit should be increased from 7 lakh to at least 10 lakhs. He said that this will give a lot of relief to the middle class people.
Voting for the Delhi assembly elections is going to be held on February 5 and the general budget presented by the Modi government four days before the voting shows more than Kejriwal’s demand on the middle class. Kejriwal had demanded exemption of income tax of up to 10 lakhs from income tax, but the Modi government has announced to exemption income tax of up to 2 lakh more than his demand from income tax.
There may be a big impact in Delhi elections
In fact, there is a large middle class of middle class in Delhi, on which there was a demand to increase the limit of income tax exemption. Raising the voice of this class, Kejriwal had laid a demand to increase the income tax exemption limit to 10 lakhs. Kejriwal himself is stranded in a tough contest in New Delhi assembly constituency this time. He is getting a tough challenge from BJP candidate Pravesh Verma and Congress candidate Sandeep Dixit.
A large number of government employees live in New Delhi assembly constituency. In such a situation, these government employees will get a big benefit of the announcement made by the government. This is the reason that political experts are considering it as a big step taken by PM Modi, which can show a big impact in the election.
Along with New Delhi Assembly constituency, there are a large number of middle class voters in other areas of Delhi. In such a situation, it will now be another matter to see how far the BJP is able to get the support of this class.
Big change made in income tax slab
According to the announcement made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the budget speech today, income up to Rs 12 lakh will be completely free from tax. This exemption has been announced in the new income tax system. Along with this, people employed with standard deduction of 75000 will not have to pay any tax on income of Rs 12.75 lakh.
