PM Modi returned to India, equals the total record of Congress Prime Ministers by giving 17 speeches in foreign parliament

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India after a visit to five countries including Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and Namibia. Prime Minister Modi also attended the 17th BRICS summit at Rio de Janeiro. Please tell that during this visit, PM Modi also made a record.

Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday welcomed the MPs after his address in Namibia’s Parliament and welcomed the applause. This was Prime Minister Modi’s 17th address in the Parliament of a foreign country, which was equivalent to the total address of all the Congress Prime Ministers before him.

During his visit to five countries, Prime Minister Modi addressed the parliamentes of Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago and Namibia. Explain that Congress Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh (7), Indira Gandhi (4), Jawaharlal Nehru (3), Rajiv Gandhi (2) and P.V. Narasimha Rao (1) gave 17 speeches in total.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee addressed the parliaments of other countries twice during his tenure as Prime Minister, while Morarji Desai once addressed the Parliament of another country.

In 2014, Prime Minister Modi addressed the parliaments of Australia, Fiji, Bhutan and Nepal. He gave a speech in 2015 in the parliaments of Mauritius, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Britain and Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Modi addressed the joint session of the US Congress in 2016 and then in 2023.

He addressed the Parliament of Uganda in 2018. It was then addressed to the Parliament of Maldives in 2019. He addressed Guyana’s Parliament in 2024. This year PM Modi has addressed the parliamentes of Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago and Namibia.

In a post on X, the BJP said that Prime Minister Modi has given 17 speeches in foreign parliament, which is equivalent to the total speeches given by the Prime Minister of Congress in several decades.

Addressing the joint session of Namibian Parliament, Prime Minister Modi said that relations between India and Africa are based on respect, equality and mutual gains. He said that India wants to cooperate with Africa, not competition.

Prime Minister Modi said that India’s development partnership in Africa has more than $ 12 billion. He expressed his desire to support India’s support and security in defense and security towards industrialization of Africa’s agenda 2063.

Prime Minister Modi said, “In 2018, I had set ten principles of our association with Africa. Today, I confirm India’s complete commitment to him. These principles are based on respect, equality and mutual gain. We do not want to compete, but we want to cooperate. Will continue to support skills, local employment creation and local innovation. “

He further said, “We believe that Africa should not be just a source of raw materials. Africa should be a leader in price creation and sustainable development. That is why we fully support Africa’s agenda 2063 for industrialization. We are ready to expand our cooperation in defense and security. India gives importance to the role of Africa in the world affairs. Proudly welcome as a permanent member of the G20. “

Prime Minister Modi reminded how India supported Africa by providing vaccines and medicines during the Kovid-19 epidemic. He said that India’s “Arogya Friendship” initiative is helping Africa through hospitals, equipment, medicines and training.

Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday completed his visit to five countries and left for New Delhi. Along with this, an important diplomatic journey also ended, in which he traveled to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil and finally Namibia.
