New Delhi, January 25 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) cadets who had come here to participate in the Republic Day program on the duty path in Delhi. He inspired the youth and spoke to them on many issues.
In this conversation, Prime Minister Modi heard from the youth about their lives, their struggles, and their dreams. One participant told PM Modi, “My dream has come true after seeing you today.” On this the Prime Minister said smilingly, “Yes, you were sleeping right now?” The participant replied, “No, looking at you it seems that we have met the biggest hero.
The Prime Minister asked the youth what they have learned about each other’s languages and cultures after coming from different states. One participant surprised PM Modi by saying “ekto ekto bhaat khawe” (ie eat rice) in Bengali.
A participant from Odisha asked Prime Minister Modi about the success. On this, Prime Minister Modi said that failure should not be accepted. We should learn from failure, only then we can reach the heights of success.
The Prime Minister also asked whether the cadets got to learn anything special during NCC. One participant reported that NCC taught him time management and leadership skills. He also told how the NCC camp has inspired him to become self-reliant.
PM Modi also talked about Swachh Bharat Mission and Digital India. One participant told PM Modi that he is actively participating in cleanliness and service work in his society. On this, PM Modi said that to create a clean India, we all will have to fulfill our responsibilities and if 140 crore people take a pledge that we will not spread filth, then the country will become clean.
Prime Minister Modi also asked that if a person wants to know something about India, what does he ask? On this, a participant said that his foreign friends ask about India’s culture, traditions, politics and religion. Another participant said that he had interacted with foreigners about the diversities and culture of India.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister made the youth of the country realize their power and duty and explained to them that every citizen will have to contribute to make India developed in the coming 25 years. He also said that we will have to work towards a developed India while performing our duties.
Prime Minister Modi finally urged everyone to express respect and reverence towards their parents and Mother Earth and plant a tree to conserve the environment.
