Mumbai, September 29 (IANS). The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has issued a statement saying that PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth more than Rs 11 thousand 200 crore in Maharashtra through video conference on Sunday.
According to the information, PM Modi was to inaugurate these projects during his Pune visit, but the program was postponed due to heavy rains in the area.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate the Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate, which will complete the work of Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1). The cost of the underground section between District Court to Swargate is approximately Rs 1,810 crore.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Swargate-Katraj Extension of Pune Metro Phase-1, which will cost approximately Rs 2,955 crore. This 5.46 km long southern extension will be completely underground and will have three stations, Market Yard, Padmavati and Katraj.
Prime Minister will dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation. It is a transformative project spread over 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. This project, developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, holds immense potential as an important economic hub in the Marathwada region. The Central Government has approved this project with a total project cost of over Rs 6,400 crore for development in three phases.
Apart from this, PM Modi will inaugurate Solapur Airport. This will improve connectivity. With this, Solapur will become more accessible to tourists, business travelers and investors. The existing terminal building has been renovated to serve approximately 4.1 lakh passengers annually.
The PM will also lay the foundation stone of the memorial of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s first girls’ school in Bhidewada, Pune.
Let us tell you that PM Modi was to unveil and launch these projects on 26 September. PM Modi had canceled his visit to the state due to rain in Pune and surrounding areas.
