Last time 9.6 crore farmers got the benefit of this scheme. This time this number has increased to 98 crores. So far, 3.86 lakh crore rupees have been sent to the accounts of farmers. At the same time, 110 million (11 crore) farmers have been benefited from this scheme so far.

This visit of PM Modi is happening before the Bihar assembly elections. Bhagalpur was selected for this event because this is where Sabour Agricultural University is located here, which is an important institution for the farmers of Bihar. With this, farmers will get information about the schemes and new techniques of the Central Government. Apart from this, through a rally organized here, the Prime Minister wants to give positive messages among the farmers about the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. About 5 lakh farmers are expected to participate in this program from Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger and Lakhisarai districts. During this visit, Prime Minister Modi will also announce the infrastructure projects worth about Rs 2,000 crore.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one of the biggest schemes being run by the Central Government to provide financial assistance to the farmers. Under this, 6,000 rupees are given every year, which are sent directly to the bank account of farmers in three equal installments (Rs 2,000 every four months).
