Katra, September 18 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Tight security arrangements have been made in the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi assembly constituency for PM Modi’s rally. There is tight security around the rally venue.
Meanwhile, enthusiasm is also being seen among the local people regarding PM Modi’s rally. They have expressed hope that the Prime Minister’s visit here will speed up the development of Katra.
Talking to IANS, local resident Sahil said, “PM Modi is coming to Katra on Thursday. We want him to focus on the development of this place and also start the development work which has been stopped for years, so that the local people can get relief from the problems they are facing.”
Local resident Akki said that we are very excited about PM Modi’s visit to Katra. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Vidhansabha is newly built, so we want that the development here should happen at a faster pace.
Actually, PM Modi’s visit to Katra also becomes important because Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Vidhansabha came into existence after the delimitation in the year 2022. BJP has made full preparations for PM Modi’s visit to Katra. BJP’s focus is on winning the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Vidhansabha seat.
Let us tell you that assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir after a gap of 10 years. There are 90 assembly seats in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Out of these, 47 seats are in Kashmir division and 43 seats are in Jammu division.
Voting for the first phase in Jammu and Kashmir has taken place today. Voting for the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections is to be held on September 25. The third and last phase is on October 1, while the results will be declared on October 8.
