Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated two major national highway projects, Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). Prime Minister Modi also did a road show in Rohini, Delhi and addressed a public meeting. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. These projects, built at a cost of about 11 thousand crores, will give great relief to Delhi, which is struggling with traffic jams and strengthening connectivity.
Unprecedented improvement in connectivity of Delhi-NCR in 11 years
Prime Minister Modi said that the month of August is a symbol of freedom and revolution and at such a time the capital Delhi is looking at the revolution of development. The Prime Minister said that the new road projects will make the movement of people in Delhi, Gurugram and the entire NCR easier. Now coming and going to offices, factories and businesses will be easier than ever. This will save time and will get special benefits to traders, traders and farmers. He congratulated the citizens of Delhi-NCR for this modern infrastructure.
In his address, Modi said that in the last 11 years, there has been an unprecedented improvement in the connectivity of Delhi-NCR. Today there are rapid rail services like world class expressway, huge metro network, Namo Bharat and now new roads. He said that Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road Delhi will give great relief from traffic jams. The Prime Minister also said that a special thing about Urban Extension Road is that millions of tonnes of waste has been used in a scientific manner in its construction. He said that ‘Our resolve to free Delhi from the garbage mountains continues and this is a big step in this direction.’
‘Hundreds of wrong laws were abolished by searching’
Referring to the cleaning workers, Prime Minister Modi said that the previous governments considered him a slave and made dangerous laws against him. But the BJP government abolished hundreds of such old and unjust laws. He said, ‘Our goal is to eliminate the interference and pressure of the government from the lives of the people. The previous governments considered our sanitation workers of Delhi as slaves. People dancing with the constitution on their heads used to trample the constitution. ‘ There was a dangerous law in Delhi under which if no cleaning friend did not come to work without telling, he could have been jailed for a month. On a small mistake, the cleaning employee was jailed. It is Modi who is finding out such wrong laws and ending them.
The Prime Minister said, “Improvement for us means expansion of good governance.” Speaking on economic reforms, Modi said that there will be major reforms in GST before Diwali, which will benefit both traders and common citizens. He appealed to the states to cooperate in this. PM Modi also repeated the slogan of ‘Vocal for Local’. He said that ‘Khadi was once on the verge of extinction, but the country took a pledge and today the sales of Khadi have increased by 7 times. The export of Made in India mobile and toys is also increasing rapidly.
‘Buy only things made in India’
He urged people to buy only local products on festivals so that both the workers and the traders are benefited and the money remained in India. Prime Minister Modi said that Delhi is becoming a capital in which the legacy of the past and the modernity of the future are a combination. He expressed confidence that Delhi would emerge as a great and developed capital in the coming times.
Two and a half hour journey will be completed in 40 minutes
After the UER-2 starts, the journey will become extremely easy. While it took two and a half hours to cover the distance from Singhu border to Dwarka Expressway, now this journey will be completed in just 40 minutes. Due to this, about three lakh vehicles entering Delhi daily will not need to come inside the city.
