PM Modi's silence on Trump's intervention will weaken India's diplomacy: CPI

CPI Kerala Secretary Binoy Viswam said on Sunday that sending delegation abroad on Operation Sindoor is a welcome step, but what would he say about the claims of mediation in US President Donald Trump’s Indo-Pakistan ceasefire when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent about it.

Viswom said in a post on the social media platform X that the Prime Minister has not yet been denied the role of America in the ceasefire and the repeated claims of Trump.

He said that Modi’s frequent silence on this issue will “weaken the strength of our diplomacy”.

Viswom said on X, “The delegation diplomacy is a welcome step. What should they answer if someone asks about the role of America in a ceasefire? Donald Trump’s repeated claims are in front of the world. It has not been strictly denied by Narendra Modi. His silence will weaken the strength of our diplomacy.”

Earlier this week, CPI (M) State Secretary MV Govindan also took a similar stand when he said that the central government has not yet clarified whether Trump’s claims of interfering in the recent India-Pakistan struggle are correct or not.

Govindan had argued that the third party intervention in the case would be contrary to India’s long -term trend that he would resolve his issues bilaterally.
