The political atmosphere has been hot after the central government’s decision of caste census. The opposition is busy taking credit by calling it its victory, while UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has firmly put BJP’s favor on this issue. Talking to IANS on Thursday, Maurya said, “Surprisingly, parties like Congress, Samajwadi Party and RJD are trying to take credit for this. If someone should get a credit, he is only Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who himself comes from backward class and today holds the highest position of the country.”
He made a scathing attack on the opposition saying that PM Modi was humiliated several times – “Sometimes his posters were removed, sometimes abuses. But now the same Prime Minister has emerged as a new light for the backward class. The historical decision of the caste census has been possible under his leadership, which will bring positive change in the life of backward.”
On the statements made by Rahul Gandhi about this decision, Maurya reacted to X (East of Twitter): “The Congress, which ruled the country for decades, never got the caste census, while he had full chance. Manmohan Singh’s government used to run from Rahul Gandhi’s remote, but at that time he remained busy in traveling abroad.”
He further wrote, “Before 2014, when Narendra Modi described himself as backward and shouted in the election, the equations of the country’s politics have changed. Modi, who became a bridge between Rama and Roti, carried out great work like ethnic publicity. Congress politics ends where Modi starts.”
