Jammu, 9 April (IANS). Politics does not seem to stop after the uproar on the Waqf Act on Monday in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Many parties including PDP, Congress are constantly demanding discussion about Waqf law. On this issue, Congress MLA Nizamuddin Bhat said that it is very important to discuss this law.
Congress MLA Nizamuddin Bhat said in a conversation with IANS, “It is very important to discuss this (Waqf law). I want the leaders of the House to come and take important decisions on this matter. It is important for the whole country.”
National Conference MLA Tanveer Sadiq said, “The meeting has been going on since yesterday. We want the House to run smoothly, but the Waqf Amendment Act is very important for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We want us to give us a chance to keep our point so that we can keep our talk.”
National Conference MLA Abdul said, “The House has not been allowed to run for the last two days. Our demand is that the Waqf law should be discussed. The way a resolution has been passed in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, a resolution against the Waqf Act should be passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on the lines of the same, so that this law can be withdrawn.”
BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa said in a conversation with IANS, “In the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, there should be talk on the issues of people and development besides the Waqf Act. Now the government should hold any meeting for whom the discussion cannot be held in the House, it does not matter us.”
There was a ruckus on Monday over the issue of bringing adjournment motion by the National Conference against the Waqf law, after which the proceedings of the House had to be postponed.
At the same time, on Tuesday, there was an uproar in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly over the Waqf law. The speaker adjourned the house for 30 minutes due to a sharp noise and uproar between the legislators.
