Prayagraj Student Protest: The politics of the state has heated up due to the ongoing student movement in Prayagraj. The government is being cornered by the opposition parties, saying that the students’ demands are legitimate. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is continuously busy attacking the government on this issue. State Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has retaliated against the attack by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. He alleged that under the guise of student movement, Akhilesh Yadav is trying to spoil the atmosphere. Maurya said that they are politicizing the sentiments of the students to gain political mileage.
Accusation of spoiling the atmosphere under the guise of agitation
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote on Twitter that the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh is fully committed to the bright future of the youth. Our priority is that all competitive examinations should be transparent and fair, the problem of standardization should also be resolved, so that every eligible candidate gets his due.
Along with this, the Deputy CM has also given a sharp reply to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. He said that it is unfortunate that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is politicizing the sentiments of students for political gains by forgetting the dark deeds of his tenure. ‘If they talk about soup, they talk about it, they also talk about sieve which has seventy-two holes’ – sensible competitive students understand very well their efforts to spoil the atmosphere under the guise of movement. With this stance, SP is certain to become a “cessationist party”.
Efforts to solve students’ problems
The Deputy CM claimed that the BJP government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath is making every possible effort through dialogue to find solutions to the problems of the students. We are determined to fulfill the aspirations of the youth and the competent authorities will coordinate with the students and ensure the solution. Youth are the future of the state and BJP stands strongly with their every aspiration.
Former IAS officer also surrounded SP
Former IAS Surya Pratap Singh has also cornered the Samajwadi Party regarding the student movement in Prayagraj. He wrote on X account that SP has become naked regarding this movement. SP leaders Raghavendra Yadav and Sandeep Yadav turned out to be the leaders of the student movement in Prayagraj. Raghavendra Yadav taken into custody by crime branch, will be beaten. Now it is not difficult to understand whose hand is in the Prayagraj student movement. He said that students should not get misled by such selfish leaders as it would ruin their career. So far, FIR has been registered against 10 people in this case.
Students’ blunt answer to the administration
On the other hand, despite all the efforts of the administration, the students in Prayagraj do not seem ready to end their agitation. Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba and DM Ravindra Kumar talked to the students late in the night regarding ending the agitation. He appealed to the students to end the protest and also assured that the matter can be resolved by sitting with the delegation.
He assured to hold talks in this matter at the government level also. To this, the protesting students replied bluntly that they would end the protest only when the old system of one-day examination is restored and the order of normalization is cancelled. The competing girl students claimed that after UP, now the student movement will start in Bihar also.
Students broke the barricades and reached the headquarters
On Thursday, the student movement of Prayagraj took a violent form. The protesting students tried to enter the Commission’s headquarters by breaking the barricades. Barricading was done by the police to stop the crowd of students, but the students broke it and reached the headquarters of the commission.
The students gathered outside the Commission are continuously raising slogans to fulfill their demands. A situation of conflict broke out between the police and the students and an attempt was made by the police to forcibly remove the students. This action of the police created chaos at the protest site.
