Patiala, Aug 29 (IANS) Former MP from Patiala seat Preneet Kaur on Thursday welcomed the historic decision to set up an industrial smart city in Rajpura. She said the decision would give a new direction to the development of Patiala district as well as prove to be an important milestone for Punjab.
Preneet Kaur thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for selecting Rajpura as one of the 12 world-class green field industrial smart cities under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
He said that this decision has brought a new opportunity for the people of Patiala district, so that they can improve their lives. Due to which the people here will get new employment opportunities and there will be development in the area. This important decision of the government will give a new direction to the development of the state.
He said that I am happy to see the fulfillment of one of my major promises to the people of Patiala. I had constantly demanded this from the government and I am grateful that our central government accepted it. The approval of Rs 1,367 crore for developing Rajpura as an industrial smart city will make it a prosperous hub of economic activity, generating over 64,000 employment opportunities and development in the region.
Praising the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, he said, “This decision is a testimony to the commitment of the Central Government to promote industrial development and generate employment in Punjab. I am grateful for this historic initiative, which will transform the economic landscape of our region and improve the lives of our people.”
She further said that I extend my heartiest congratulations to the people of Rajpura and the entire Patiala district on this important decision. This is a victory of our collective efforts. This is a testimony to the unwavering faith you all have in me. I feel honoured to play a role in making this vision a reality, and I see how it will positively impact our community.
