Latur (Maharashtra), Sep 3 (IANS) President Draupadi Murmu is on a three-day visit to Maharashtra. She will be in Latur on Wednesday. Here she will inaugurate the Udgir Buddha Vihar and then be a part of the Mahila Anand Mela celebrations.
On the first day of her visit, the President attended the golden jubilee celebrations of Shri Varana Mahila Sahakari Group in Varananagar, Kolhapur. On the second day i.e. today (September 3), she will address the 21st convocation of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in Pune.
Along with this, she will also attend the centenary celebrations of the Maharashtra Legislative Council in Mumbai. On the last day of her visit on Wednesday, she will inaugurate the Buddha Vihar in Udgir, Latur and will also meet the beneficiaries of ‘Shasan Avyan Dari’ and ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana’.
‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana’ was launched by the Maharashtra state government on June 28, 2024. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and empowerment to women in the state.
This scheme is getting a positive response from women across the state. This can be gauged from the fact that till now 2 crore 40 lakh women have applied from all over Maharashtra.
It is noteworthy that under this scheme, the Maharashtra government has already given money to the beneficiaries in two installments. The process of application of women for ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana’ is going on. Although the last date for application for this scheme was 31 August, but seeing the enthusiasm of eligible women towards this scheme, the Shinde government can take a big decision.
At the same time, the main objective of the ‘Shasan Avyan Daari’ scheme is to provide the benefits of all the schemes started by the government to people of all castes and religions as well as every section of the society in the state of Maharashtra without any hindrance.
