The Congress said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should leave the all -party meeting and a special session of Parliament, leaving the ‘worry of his stubbornness and prestige’, so that the nation can clearly express its collective will and a solid roadmap can be presented to the country.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, while citing the US Army Chief Asim Munir invited to America and an American military officer, also said that decades of diplomatic progress cannot be allowed to weaken so easily.
The main opposition party has raised many times the demand for a special session and all -party meeting of Parliament on the Pahalgam terror attack and the post -vermilion developments.
The government has announced to be called by the monsoon session of Parliament from July 21.
Ramesh posted on ‘X’, ‘It is reported that Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir has been invited to a program organized at Washington DC on the occasion of US Army Day (14 June). This news is a major shock for India from diplomatic and strategic point of view.
He said, ‘This is the same person who used inflammatory and provocative language just before the Pahalgam terror attack- the question arises what is the intention of America?’
Ramesh mentioned that the head of the US Central Command also made a statement that Pakistan is a ‘brilliant partner’ in the US, in the fight against terrorism.
The Congress leader says, ‘Modi government is saying that’ Operation Sindoor ‘is still going on, in such a situation, it is certainly a matter of serious concern for the Pakistani Army Chief to join the US Army Day as a guest.’ He said that the Trump administration is constantly making such statements, which can be removed that America is looking at India and Pakistan in the same scales.
Ramesh claimed that the Prime Minister is still welcoming the delegation who returned to the whole world including the US about the terrorism-supporting role of Pakistan and at the same time there are reports from Washington DC, which make India’s diplomatic status more uncomfortable. He said, “The Prime Minister should now leave an all-party meeting and special session of Parliament, leaving anxiety of his persistence and prestige, so that the nation can clearly express its collective desire and a solid roadmap can be presented to the country.”
Ramesh also said, “Diplomatic progress of decades cannot be allowed to weaken so easily.”
