Prime Minister Modi spoke in English to reach the world, swear to 'punish every terrorist' in his first speech after the Pahalgam attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke in English in his first public speech after the Pahalgam terror attack, which was aimed at reaching more people because he assured to “identify, find out and punish every terrorist and his supporters”. Prime Minister Modi said, “Terrorism will never break India’s spirit. Will not be released without punishing terrorism.”

Prime Minister Modi was in Bihar on Thursday when he gave this speech at a time when the country is shocked by the heinous crime committed with fellow unarmed tourists in Jammu and Kashmir, the land which is constantly facing terrorist attacks, but is trying to be ‘normal’ in the last few years.

On April 22, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killed at least 26 people, mostly tourists, some eyewitnesses claimed that they were targeted for being non-Muslim.

Prime Minister Modi’s speech in Bihar

In his first speech after the terrorist attack, the Prime Minister vowed to punish the terrorists behind the attack and said that terrorism would never break India’s soul.

PM Modi spoke briefly in English and said, “Friends, today from the land of Bihar, I tell the whole world that India will identify every terrorist and their supporters, find them and punish them. We will chase them to the end of the world. Terrorism will never break India’s soul. It will not be released without punishing terrorism.”

In a stringent message, he said, “Every effort will be made to ensure justice. The whole country is adamant on this resolution. Every person believing in humanity is with us. I thank people and their leaders of different countries who stand with us in this difficult time.”

In a message given to Pakistan, Prime Minister Modi said without naming the country, he would clearly say that the terrorists who attacked and who hatched the conspiracy will be punished beyond their imagination. “You will definitely get punishment.” The Prime Minister said that the will of 140 crore Indians will break the back of the patrons of terrorism.

Expressing condolences to the victims and their families, he said that on April 22, citizens from all over the country are in mourning due to the brutal murder of 26 innocent civilians in Kashmir. He said that the whole country stands with his families.

Prime Minister Modi, other leaders and mobs present on the stage kept silence to pay tribute to the victims of the attack at the beginning of the Prime Minister’s speech. He said that people have lost their sons, brothers and husbands and said that the victims are from different parts of India, whether it is Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha or Bihar. He said, “From Kargil to Kanyakumari, our grief and anger are the same.” He said that peace and security are the most important conditions for rapid development.

India had reduced diplomatic relations with Pakistan on Wednesday and announced several measures, which involves expel to Pakistani military Atashe, suspend the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 and immediate closure of the Attari land-trading outpost in view of the border relations with the horrific Pahalgam terror attack.

The shooting of tourists by terrorists has caused resentment across the country and a decisive action is being sought from the Modi government, which is known for a tough stand on the issue of national security.
