Kurukshetra, Sep 14 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election rally in Kurukshetra, Haryana today. PM Modi will address the rally in support of 23 BJP candidates.
Let us tell you that this rally will be held at the Theme Park of Kurukshetra at 2 pm today. Voting for the assembly elections in Haryana is to be held on October 5. This rally of the Prime Minister is considered very important regarding the elections.
The 23 assembly seats for which PM Modi will campaign include Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal and some seats of Panipat, Yamunanagar, Sonipat and Kaithal.
In the 2019 assembly elections, Congress had won 14 out of 23 seats, this area is considered a stronghold of BJP.
Apart from PM Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda will also campaign in the Haryana Assembly elections.
Let us tell you that Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini is contesting from the Ladwa assembly seat of Kurukshetra district. He is also touring the state to ensure the party’s return to power for the third consecutive time in the state.
Security arrangements have been tightened in view of Prime Minister Modi’s rally. A total of 2,500 policemen, including eight Superintendents of Police, have been deployed for security.
It is known that in the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP had won 40 seats. However, being six seats short of the majority, the BJP had formed an alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) led by Dushyant Chautala, the great-grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal.
Congress had won 31 seats during the 2019 assembly elections. While the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) had won 10 seats, seven independents and one candidate each from INLD and Haryana Lokhit Party also won.
The BJP had formed the government for the first time in the state by winning 47 seats in the 2014 assembly elections.
