New Delhi, 23 March (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s incentive words have probably inspired India to win the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup. Former India captain Krishnamachari Srikanth said this in a video posted on social media on Sunday. Srikanth, who was part of the 1983 World Cup winner ‘Kapils Devils’, said that PM Modi’s biggest feature is that he makes every person they meet “important” and comfortable.
Srikanth, also known as Chika, said in a video posted on his social media handle, “The Prime Minister’s incentive words have probably inspired India to win the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup.”
Srikanth also recalled his meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last few years and remembered the moment of watching the T20 match between India and Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad.
The 65 -year -old former Indian opener said, “I have met Honorable Prime Minister Modi many times. The best thing about him is that when you go to talk to him and meet him, you feel very comfortable. You feel very comfortable. There is no pressure on you. Oh, he is the Prime Minister, he is the Chief Minister – No, there is nothing like that.”
Srikanth said, “They will be very comfortable and if you want to discuss anything, if you have any idea, they will make you feel very comfortable. Therefore, you will not be afraid. Their biggest feature is that they make you feel comfortable and make you feel important.”
Srikanth also recalled his conversation with the Prime Minister on WhatsApp and said that he got an immediate reply from him.
He said, “He will make you feel very comfortable. And when he won the 2024 election, I sent a message to his secretary. He congratulated him for his victory. Believe it or not, I got a reply. I did not send a mail or letter. I sent a message to his secretary that you call WhatsApp type, in which the Prime Minister was addressed to the Prime Minister and I was congratulated for the victory of 2019 and 2024.
“Imagine that he is sending me answers while I sent him a message only on WhatsApp. He is all my treasure in my life. The greatest, best qualities. They have the ability to talk to you, make you feel comfortable and make you feel important.
“In 2014, when he was the prime ministerial candidate, you would not believe that there was a big ceremony in the University Auditorium in Chennai. We were invited to that ceremony. And so I was standing near the rope. He looked at me and said, ‘Come, let’s come, and I went there to meet him. So imagine that he is shouting on the stage,’ Shrikantji ‘.
“You can see, the entire stadium was clapping. This is the greatness of this man. There was a time when we watched the match together. We saw the entire T20 International match between India and Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad. We remained sitting for about three hours and watched the match. He was telling me all his old stories, how it was and everything. He is a very interesting person.”
Srikanth recalled that India had lost in that match, but PM Modi did not worry about it and went to the dressing room to encourage the Indian team.
Srikanth said, “He went and talked to every cricketer and talked to him personally. He said ‘Don’t worry, everything is fine’. And after losing the final, at the time when you are expected to win. It matters a lot as a cricketer. So, I believe that these are small things that inspire people. And if you see after that match in November 2024 and June 2024 Won the World Cup. Now we have won the Champions Trophy in March 2025.
“And perhaps those words of the Prime Minister’s encouragement have inspired India to win the Champions Trophy and the T20 World Cup. Therefore, these are small incentives from the Prime Minister of the country. Because he is physically fit, he is mentally very fast, because of yoga and meditation. ”
