Former MLA Dalveer Singh Goldie returned to the party on Saturday in the presence of Congress General Secretary and in -charge of Punjab Bhupesh Baghel. Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wading shared information in this regard.
Wading said in a post on ‘X’, “Younger brother Dalveer Singh Goldi ji is heartily welcome to the party. He has formally joined the Punjab Congress today in the presence of Congress General Secretary and in -charge of Punjab Bhupesh Baghel ji and Legislature Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa ji.”
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Baghel is on a two -day visit here and is holding several meetings with party leaders. Goldie left the Congress in May last year and joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
He resigned after not getting a party ticket from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, Goldie was also separated from the Aam Aadmi Party a few months later.
He contested against Bhagwant Mann of AAP from Dhuri seat in the 2022 assembly elections, but had to face defeat.
He also contested the 2022 Lok Sabha by -election from Sangrur, but had to face defeat. Goldie won the Dhuri assembly seat on a Congress ticket in 2017.
