Barnala, October 6 (IANS). In Aam Aadmi Party ruled Punjab’s Barnala, the administration’s activity regarding Panchayat elections has intensified. Following the instructions of the Election Commission, the administration gave training to the polling personnel.
Talking to journalists, Barnala SDM Gurbir Singh Kohli said that Panchayat elections are being held in Punjab. For this, the first training of polling parties took place on Sunday. The nomination work has been completed peacefully in the entire district. It is expected that the election process will also be completed in a similar manner.
He said that training is taking place at Barnala of Barnala block, Tapa of Shehna block and Mahal Kalan of Mahal Kalan block. This round of training will continue till the end of this week, after which all the teams will be on duty. The nomination work has been completed peacefully, while the work of scrutiny of nomination papers has also been completed.
He said that wherever there were genuine errors during nomination, the nominations have been rejected. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, nominations of more and more people have been approved and they have been given the right to contest the elections.
He said that it is a matter of great happiness that there was no fight during the nomination in the three blocks of Barnala. No nomination paper was snatched or torn anywhere. All the work has been done in a very peaceful environment. Voting is to be held on October 15. All voters should rise above factionalism and vote as much as possible and give a chance to good people. He said that drugs etc. are not being used in the entire district. People are already quite aware.
