Seoul, October 4 (IANS). North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un described South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol as an ‘abnormal person’ and a ‘puppet’. Kim is actually very upset with a statement given by Yun at the Armed Forces Day ceremony on Tuesday. The South Korean President had said that if Pyongyang tries to use nuclear weapons, it will be given a befitting reply.
Kim said, “Puppet Yun boasted of his military might to a nuclear-armed country. This is something that has given rise to suspicions that he is abnormal.”
Kim made the comments during a visit to a training base for North Korean special operations units on Wednesday, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
According to KCNA, Kim said Yun’s speech reflected the “security uneasiness and troubling psychology” of puppet forces.
The North Korean dictator said Yun’s statement was a confession of the fact that it is no one else but South Korea and the United States who are ‘destroying regional security and peace.’
This is the first time in almost two years that Kim made such strong comments about Yun without addressing him as ‘President’.
Earlier in a program in July 2022, he had not used the word ‘President’ while referring to Yun.
On Thursday, Kim’s sister Kim Yo-jong described South Korea’s Armed Forces Day celebrations as “silly” and called the “Hyunmu-5” missile, which was displayed for the first time during the event, a “useless big weapon”.
Let us tell you that South Korea had displayed its most powerful ‘Monster’ missile for the first time on Tuesday on the occasion of Armed Forces Day.
It was Seoul’s clear warning to Pyongyang amid North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats.
Two mobile missile launchers, carrying the ‘Hyunmu-5’, were unveiled at a ceremony at Seoul Air Base, south of the capital, according to Yonhap news agency.
This missile is a key part of South Korea’s response plan in the event of a major attack by North Korea. The military equipment was displayed at Seoul Air Base, south of the capital.
This surface-to-surface ballistic missile is called ‘Monster’ because of its size. It was kept in secrecy due to its strategic importance. It can carry a warhead weighing about 8 tonnes and is also capable of destroying underground bunkers.
South Korea has developed a series of ‘Hyunmu’ missiles. This includes ballistic and cruise missiles.
