Gurugram police said on Saturday that former state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav did not have her own academy and she used to train the players by booking tennis courts in different places, which her father had objections.
On Thursday, 25 -year -old Radhika was allegedly shot dead by her father Deepak Yadav (49) in a double -run house in Sushant Lok in Sector 57 of Gurugram.
Earlier, police had said that Radhika used to run a tennis academy, which had become a matter of dispute between the two as Deepak was often taunted to depend on her daughter’s earnings.
It said that the accused is financially prosperous and renting various properties has good income, so he was not dependent on the daughter’s earnings but was in depression due to taunts for the last few weeks.
In this regard, an investigating officer said on Saturday, “Radhika had no academy of its own. She used to train new players by booking tennis courts at different places. Deepak had asked him to stop training several times, but he refused. There was a fight between the two about this matter. “
According to the police, Deepak has confessed to killing his daughter. He was produced in court on Friday, from where one day police was sent to custody. During the custody, the police recovered cartridges from his residence in Sector 57. Deepak was also taken to a village in Pataudi in connection with the investigation. The investigating officer said that the accused would be produced in court again on Saturday.
It was claimed that Deepak was angry with Radhika’s presence on social media and the desire to become an ‘influencer’. Many people claimed that Radhika’s music video with an artist caused her assassination.
Inspector of Sector 56 police station Vinod Kumar said, “The video was uploaded in 2023, it has no connection with the murder. The accused has repeatedly said that he did not want his daughter to earn from training. ‘
According to a close relative of the family, Deepak supported Radhika’s tennis career since childhood.
He told that Deepak had asked his daughter to stop training several times but refused.
According to the postmortem report, Radhika was fired four bullets, out of which three in the back and one in the shoulder. His last rites were performed in his village in Wazirabad on Friday.
