New Delhi, September 9 (IANS). Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement on his US visit is being discussed everywhere. Author and professor Dilip Mandal said that Rahul Gandhi is ignoring the specialty of India’s unity.
Talking to IANS on Monday, Dilip Mandal explained Rahul Gandhi’s vision for India. He said that I think there is a mistake in Rahul Gandhi’s ‘idea of India’. He is looking at India as a nation which is made by joining many pieces. But I feel that India is a country in which all the threads of unity have been continuously scattered in history.
Dilip Mandal further said that “We got the geographical boundary in 1947, but this does not mean that we do not have points of unity. Our cultural diversities have a special significance in their own place. No one can say that we do not have diversity. Points of unity will be found scattered throughout our history on the basis of inter-currents.”
”Inscriptions made by Emperor Ashoka can be found all across the boundary of India. Similarly, Buddha’s picture can be found from Tamil Nadu to Jammu and from Gujarat to Assam. From Rameshwar to Badrinath, from Kamakhya to Dwarka in the east, all these are points of unity. When Rahul Gandhi is speaking very strongly on diversity, he is actually ignoring the unity character, which is his big mistake. India is a unified country with its diversity. It is a civilization based country of infinite diversity. There are some threads inside India which are holding it together.”
Let us tell you that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has commented on the ideas of BJP and RSS during his US tour. He said in a program in Texas, “RSS believes that India is ‘one idea’, whereas we believe that India is made up of ‘many ideas’. We, like America, believe that everyone has the right to dream, everyone should get a chance to participate and this is the fight.”
